I’m Richard, a qualified Counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).

My Journey to the Therapy Room

My path to becoming a qualified counsellor started in a place you might not expect: the cab of a delivery lorry and the floor of a factory.

Meeting people from all walks of life during those long days on the road sparked a realization: everyone has a story, and everyone deserves a safe place to tell it. This led me from the road into the community as a befriender, alongside my journey through education, voluntary counselling, coordinator of student counsellors and eventually, to my practice today.

My approach is grounded and honest. If you’re looking for someone who understands the pressures of the "real world" and can help you find clarity amidst the noise, I’m here to help.

My aim is to empower you through self-discovery, providing you with the tools to navigate those thoughts and feelings within your significant life challenges, including:

  • Emotional & Psychological Well-being: Finding a way through the heavy fog of anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem.

  • Relational & Life Transitions: Processing the complexity of grief, loss, and domestic concerns that alter your daily world.

  • Personal growth & Identity: Supporting individuals as they explore, affirm, and embrace their unique identity.

In all my work, the core focus remains on empowering individuals to understand and embrace their individual strengths and distinct journey.

Whether you’re looking for focused, short term support or a deeper, long term therapeutic relationship, I’m here to help
